What a Difference a Week Makes!

The sky in last week's SkyWatch post was a beautiful springlike blue. It is still winter, though, and the weather is not letting us forget that.  This snow was predicted last night, and I kept looking out of the window at work, as the sky got darker and darker.  Finally, around 1:30, the snow started out light, but each time I looked out a window, it was coming down heavier and heavier.

When I got home from work, I took some photos of the sky out the front door.  The snowfall was still pretty heavy, but it didn't show up well in the photos.

The news at 5:00 said we'd gotten 3 inches so far, and could get another 2 or 3.  To see skies from all over the world, click on the link in the sidebar.

    SKY-SEEKERS

    The sky-seekers, some people say,
    Do not favor night over day;
    They always look up,
    The sky is their cup,
    And keeping it full’s their cachet!

  5. What I really like about this whole shywatch meme is the ability to see into other people’s seasons. You are holding out for spring - and I'm looking for the first day of autumn. Not bad for a few clicks of a mouse!

  8. We've had similar weather surprises here in northern CA. Two weeks ago it felt like spring was here and the daffodils were starting to bloom. Then wham, we've had two weekends in a row with snow, hail and freezing temps. The daffs didn't know what hit them. The snow is pretty, though. Your area looks like a Christmas card!

  12. I am so tired of snow, Guess what I woke up to on April 18th! You got it the ground covered with snow!!! Today it is gloomy, gray, and sunless with winds out of the north west, making the 43 the thermometer says a lie. Feels like 32 according to weather.com, but to me it feels worse than 15 degrees.
    Oh Spring spring forth!
